The Track Changes feature allows you to trace edits and approve or reject edits from the comments. The updated Navigation Pane allows you browse through your document with the improved document map.

Word for Mac 2008 includes all the features that you grew accustomed to in 2004 and more. The most recent version features an improved user interface that offers an extensible toolbar and introduces a rudimentary publishing capability via the Publishing Layout View. This offers increased control over positioning of words and graphics and allows you to link text overflow from a given area to a specified text box on another page. New features available in Word for Mac 2008 include OpenType ligatures for better looking type, and reference tools that allow a variety of citation styles. Microsoft Word for Mac 2008 supports AppleScript, but does not support VBasic for applications. Furthermore, Word for Mac 2008 allows you to save documents in a variety of formats making it compatible with all versions of Microsoft Word.

Entourage 2008 also offers tighter integration with Exchange Server and a more powerful calendaring function.
